Do not confine your passions to the means of monetary intent.
If you create for the sake of inspiring, or touching, or expressing, than art becomes your life.
The example I gave in the post above, going out to the streets to draw for random people. I don't get paid for that. I do it because I love it, I love drawing. Cartoons is what I do with my life, its just sometimes I happened to get paid for it.
Try to find ways to incorporate your artwork into everyday, and success will follow.Josh 'Hat' Liebermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01474257989684670800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7724580721888391341.post-702768877968361962009-08-04T22:12:21.195-07:002009-08-04T22:12:21.195-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Josh 'Hat' Liebermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01474257989684670800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7724580721888391341.post-16417588986038562142009-08-04T20:47:23.136-07:002009-08-04T20:47:23.136-07:00"So yeah, for me at least, it's not about..."So yeah, for me at least, it's not about defining greatness, it's about trying to do what I love for a living."

Same here. :DAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09300079466263833808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7724580721888391341.post-23722248053436689922009-08-03T08:11:37.518-07:002009-08-03T08:11:37.518-07:00True words of wisdom, though I think that there...True words of wisdom, though I think that there's a small part that you didn't touch on.

I've been struggling as an artist for a long time, but for me, it wasn't the idea of getting my name in lights (although, yeah, that would be pretty cool), it was because I wanted to be a professional artist, I wanted to be able to say that art was all that I did, not just a hobby. I wanted to sell enough of my pieces that I could just throw myself into my art full-time and not have to go back to my other dead-end job.

So yeah, for me at least, it's not about defining greatness, it's about trying to do what I love for a living.Give it up for your hosts, Stickman and Inkblot!!https://www.blogger.com/profile/18313370834374057784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7724580721888391341.post-53943559715881134902009-08-02T17:25:06.766-07:002009-08-02T17:25:06.766-07:00How true. The way you addressed this issue of success equaling recognition helped me think about how I should view success: in myself and others.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09300079466263833808noreply@blogger.com
